PARIS, April 11 – Ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s trip to Manchester City, Angel Di Maria insisted he is happy at his current club and had a little dig at his former employers.

The Argentine winger will return to Manchester for the Champions League quarter-final against United’s derby rivals on Tuesday, but the former Benfica star has little love for his previous club.

“It’s not nice to say certain things, but it’s more that they didn’t let me settle properly than I couldn’t settle,” the attacker told the BBC of his time at Old Trafford.

“I started a game in one position, then the next game in another. I scored goals playing in one position, then suddenly the next game I was picked to play in a different position.”

The 28-year-old was also full of praise for current manager Laurent Blanc, especially in comparison to his time under United boss Louis van Gaal.

“From the beginning he was clear where he wanted to play me and has never changed his mind,” Di Maria added. “He gave me total freedom to move where I needed to move. I’m very happy here and it wasn’t the case over there.”

Di Maria has already bagged nine goals and 11 assists in Ligue 1 this season. PSG head into the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie with the aggregate score locked at 2-2 , although Blaise Matuidi and David Luiz will both miss out due to suspension.
