LONDON, February 23 – Barcelona’s Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez almost made a devastating mistake as he left his passport at his home before flying to London to face Arsenal.
Luckily for Barca and unfortunately for Arsenal, a club official raced back to the forward’s home to retrieve the passport before the flight was scheduled to leave.
The Barcelona side left Barcelona El Prat airport on Monday morning, arriving in north London for a training session before tonight’s highly anticipated Round of 16 clash.
Suarez has scored 41 goals in 37 games this season and it looks as though Arsenal will be in for a tough night against the Catalans as Suarez’s forward partners Lionel Messi and Neymar are also fit.
The South American trio have scored a combined 91 goals between them this season as Barca aim to become the first European team to achieve back-to-back trebles.
However, despite the glut of goals scored by Barca, Arsenal’s Brazilian defender Gabriel is confident Arsenal have a fighting chance if they stick to their game plan.
Speaking to the Sun the defender said:
“I know the formula to stop Messi, Neymar and Suarez, ut it is locked under seven keys!
“I cannot reveal the formula. If I reveal it, I risk all the strategy the team has worked on.”
