LIVERPOOL, November 30- Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was satisfied with their 1-0 win over Swansea City at Anfield on Sunday, and with the return of “two very important players”.
The Reds needed a 62nd-minute penalty from James Milner to claim all three points against the Swans and climb up to sixth in the Premier League standings.
“It was good – it was good in many parts of the game,” Klopp said. “We played against an opponent that were very, very organised – I think it was their best game in terms of defensive organisation in their last two or three [matches].
“We scored a very important goal and defended really well – Simon Mignolet didn’t have that much work to do – so it was a big plus for the whole team. It was a good result and a good night.
“Tonight, we are deserved winners and there’s no doubt about it – that’s the only thing we should care about. Everyone who is with us can be proud because it was a difficult game, a deserved win, 23 points – very good!”
The match also saw the introduction of Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge in the second half, and Klopp is delighted to have the English duo at his disposal again after their injury lay-offs.
“They are two very important players for us and they’re back in the race,” the German coach added. “They did well for their situation and from where they’ve come from after a long break with difficult injuries. Now they are back and that’s really good for us.”
