LONDON, October 13- Arsenal are set to offer Alexis Sanchez the chance to become their highest-paid player, according to reports.
Sanchez has become a key figure at the Emirates Stadium since joining the north London outfit from Barcelona ahead of the 2014/15 campaign, with the forward scoring 25 goals in all competitions as he helped Arsenal to the FA Cup title.
The Chilean’s influence has been underlined in recent weeks, with Sanchez recovering from a slow start to the campaign to score six goals in his last three games, including a brace in the 3-0 victory over Manchester United.
Sanchez’s current contract expires in 2018, and ESPN have reported that the Gunners are eager to tie the 26-year-old down to a new, long-term deal before Christmas.
It is believed that Arsenal do not want any of their star players to enter into the final two years of their contracts, and will look to convince Sanchez to commit his future to the club by making him their top earner.
