MANCHESTER, October 6- Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has called on the squad to bounce back from their humiliating 3-0 defeat to Arsenal, calling the performance ‘unacceptable.’

The Gunners were 3-0 up inside the first 20 minutes after a blistering start to the clash at the Emirates, with Alexis Sanchez scoring twice and Mesut Ozil adding another to put Arsene Wenger’s men out of sight before half-time.

Mata believes they cannot afford to put in another performance like that again this season if they are to challenge for titles and hopes the players take the opportunity to learn from what was a woeful showing.

“Arsenal started with more intensity, they scored very quickly and with no time for our reaction they scored the second goal,” Mata is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

“Not even 10 minutes have passed and things were already looking very bad. A start like this from us is unacceptable; if we want to fight for big things we must learn the lesson as soon as possible.

“The only thing I can say is that we shouldn’t play a game like this again.”
