KISUMU, June 9- Windsor Golf Club resident Pro Riz Charania shot to the lead of the third leg of KCB Pro-Am golf tour that teed off Tuesday at the Par 70 Nyanza Golf club with a superb 3 under 67.
The Windsor Pro golfer came into this leg rejuvenated and focused to make headways after missing the first two legs on a day that saw a full house with 36 Pros on the course.
Despite the heavy rains that have been pounding the entire country, Nyanza golf course was dry and good for a good golf outing.
“The greens were firm and the course was dry so I had a good outing today. I actually managed to get two bogeys only to have a good start”, Charania said.
Charania carded 11 pars, five birdies and two bogeys in a day that saw mixed performances from his rivals participating in the four day Pro’s only tournament.
The overnight leader who is the immediate former PGK chairman, was upbeat about the Nyanza tour adding; “I look forward to good performances here. I had some difficulties in hole number seven and number fifteen but the rest were okay he said.”
Dismas Indiza was second with a strong 2 under par 68 on his debut appearance in the tour after missing the second leg in Thika ahead of Frank Matilo and Brian Njoroge on count back.
The Mumias resident Pro won the first leg in Royal Nairobi golf club and is looking to retain his order of merit lead in this year’s KCB Pro-Am golf tour.
The tournament continues Wednesday at the same venue.
