LONDON, June 5- The Premier League footballer who secretly married a volleyball star abroad did so without telling two girlfriends he was dating back in Britain, it was claimed last night.

Papiss Cisse, 30, who earns £40,000 a week at Newcastle United, wed Diallo Awa near Paris last week – apparently without informing his alleged lovers Rachelle Graham and Natalie Gibson.

Beauty queen Miss Graham, 24, has already told of how she became worried when he failed to return her texts while abroad – and soon found pictures online of him marrying Miss Awa, 29.

And now, last night a newspaper claimed that the £9million Senegalese striker had also been dating Gateshead-based dance studio owner Miss Gibson, 24, after they met in a casino a year ago.

According to Daily Mirror journalist Jeremy Armstrong, she told a friend: “I knew nothing about it until I saw all the reports. I had no idea who Papiss was when we met, I don’t follow football.

“But I thought we were going out together and I had no idea he was going to get married in France – and certainly knew nothing about any other girl. It was a terrible way to find out.”

The friend added: “When we saw the first picture of the other girl online, we thought it was Natalie. It looked so like her, we thought it was her but then realised it was a completely different woman.”

Miss Gibson has not yet confirmed or denied having a relationship with Cisse. A woman answering the phone at her home last night told MailOnline she did not wish to talk.

Meanwhile, Miss Graham defended herself yesterday after being mocked on Twitter over her motives for going out with the player, saying: “I did not date him because of his job and fame”.

But she has since said: “Yes, I am upset and hurt as we were very close and I trusted him all these years. I had a good life before I met Papiss and I intend to get that good life back.

“Contrary to what a lot of you think I have never needed his money – I have my own, thank you – and I did not date him because of his job and fame.

“I dated him for the same reason most people date someone – and anyone who knows me and Papiss will tell you that. Now it’s time for me to move on with my life and he will do the same.”

The pair broke up last year after trolls abused them because it was a mixed race relationship – but Miss Graham claimed recently they had started seeing each other more regularly again.

She also took part in a charity skydive to raise money for a community ambulance in the striker’s native Senegal. But friends said they suspect his Muslim religion and family prevented any future.

When she discovered her lover’s betrayal, Miss Graham told The Sun: “I’m hurt and disgusted to learn Papiss has got married without me knowing after we spent so much time together recently.
