LONDON, May 11- Santi Cazorla admits he would welcome Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas to Arsenal but does not believe his compatriot will ever leave the Bernabeu.
Casillas’ future at Los Blancos has long been called into question following a signficant dip in form in recent seasons, while the Gunners have been frequently mentioned as a potential destination for the 33-year-old.
Rumours have once again surfaced over a move following the veteran stopper’s questionable performance in Real’s costly 2-2 draw with Valencia at the weekend.
Cazorla admits it would be a pleasure to play alongside his international team-mate at the Emirates but says he cannot see Casillas playing for any other club.
“These rumours appeared when Iker suffered a delicate situation and speculation arose that he could come to Arsenal,” the 30-year-old is quoted as saying by Spanish publication Marca.
“It would be a pleasure to have him here, but I don’t see him leaving Madrid. He has said many times that his wish is to remain in Madrid.”
