Media reports in recent days had speculated that Cruzeiro, 2013 and 2014 league champions, would end the 35-year-old’s Mexican exile by tempting the 97-cap veteran with a $300,000 (Sh28,446,534.74)-per month offer.
But Cruzeiro director of football Valdir Barbosa denied any approach had been made or was in the offing, dubbing the rumours unfounded “chitchat”.
Superesportes sports news web portal quoted Barbosa as saying the club were not in negotiations to bring any new faces to the club
Ronaldinho headed to Queretaro last September after a largely successful two-year stint with Cruzeiro’s Belo Horizonte rivals Atletico Mineiro, whom he helped to the 2013 Copa Libertadores.
Agent and brother Roberto Assis told Brazilian media in midweek Ronaldinho was looking for a new challenge, possible in Major League soccer in the United States, but said no approaches had been made.
