Royal, Muthaiga share Tanahill lead

TANAHILL-GOLFNAIROBI, April 2- Titleholders and hosts Royal Golf Club shared the lead with Muthaiga after day one of the Tanahill Easter tournament that kicked-off on Good Friday.

Royal and Muthaiga are tied on 13 points with Sigona na Mombasa joint third on 11 as the teams battled for control in close contests.

Vet Lab who are returning from a three-year suspension from the tournament, scored eight with West Kenya and Limuru tied on six as Windsor (four) and Karen (two) rounded the rankings.

“I’m happy all teams reported and the atmosphere is exciting within teams. The weather looks like it will hold up and will not interfere with the Easter weekend golf.

“I’m confident my team will win the tournament not only because it’s our home course but my players are top quality,” Royal captain, Bernard Kiraithe, told Capital Sport.

“All teams are well prepared and I expect quality throughout the weekend,” he added.

The tournament matches kicked off with Karen taking on Sigona and Mombasa in the threesome format tournament.
