NAIROBI, Kenya, February 11- Record Harambee Stars goal scorer and former Kenya captain, Dennis Oliech, has returned to the Gulf to play for Dubai’s Al-NasrSC from French second division side AC Ajaccio.
According to kplchat.com website who quoted Ajaccio’s online portal, Oliech has mutually ended his contract with the Ligue 2 side before it lapsed in June.
It will be the second stint for Oliech in the Middle East after his hugely successful spell with Doha’s Al Arabi where he sunk 12 goals in 17 outing to earn a move to the French topflight with former champions Nantes where he netted twice in 32 games before he moved to AJ Auxerre following their relegation to Ligue 2 in 2007.
At Auxerre, Oliech played in the UEFA Champions League in his most productive stay in France where he struck 25 times in 165 appearances until 2012 before he was again relegated with Ajaccio where he has scored eight in 45 appearances.
He is credited with 34 goals in 65 games for Harambee Stars although the figure could be much higher before he fell out with immediate former head coach, Adel Amrouche who stripped him of the armband and expelled him from the squad last year.
Oliech returned to train with Stars when Scot Bobby Williamson when he took over but was not included in the team that played an international friendly with Morocco in the latter part of last year.
Al-Nasr are residents of Rashid Al-Maktoum Stadium in Dubai and lie fifth on the log with 25 points having played 15 games.
