NAIROBI, Kenya, October 20- The dream final is on after AFC Leopards quashed the challenge of Sofapaka 2-0 on Sunday to set up a tantalising GOtv final against archrivals Gor Mahia.
The victors took the lead in the 40th minute Allan Wanga capitalizing on a rare mistake from Harambee Stars goalkeeper Duncan Ochieng to tap into an empty net after the Sofapaka custodian had miscued his clearance.
Upon resumption Sofapaka pushed forward in search of an equaliser but Leopards defence was having none of it with the defensive pairing of Antony Kimani and Jackson Saleh forming a formidable barrier.
Ingwe put the icing on the cake with a sweet finish in the 87th minute by Noah Wafula after a sublime pass from Paul Were who had an outstanding game.
The ‘Mashemeji (in-laws) Derby’ final is on November 16 where Kenya’s foremost clubs will duel for the domestic cup with both clubs virtually assured of continental football with Gor all set to clinch the league crown and should they complete the double, Ingwe will still feature in the CAF Confed Cup as losing finalists.
