Salim, Shikokoti back to Stars fold

RAMA-SALIMNAIROBI, Kenya, April 23- Harambee Stars head coach, Adel Amrouche has listed nine new faces in his local-based players line-up for the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Nigeria unveiled Tuesday.

Six other players led by Gor Mahia’s attacker, Rama Salim are also back to the fold after recovering from injury or being overlooked.

AFC Leopards talented teenage talent, Patillah Omotto is in line for a first cap as well as Mathare United’s David Mwaura, Thika United pair David Kingatua and Kennedy Otieno, Chemelil’s Daniel Mutai, Sony Sugar’s Ben Barasa, Bandari’s Abdul Latiff Omar and KCB’s Ali Bhai are the fresh faces in the 25-man squad.

Besides Salim who was sidelined by injury early on in the season, Tusker skipper, Joseph Shikokoti and team mate forward Ismael Dunga, Lloyd Wahome (Mathare) and Gor Mahia custodian, Jerim Onyango return to the side.

The Nigeria game will be played in Nairobi on June 5 with Kenya missing captain Dennis Oliech and first choice custodian Arnold Origi who are suspended for collecting two bookings during the campaign.

Amrouche is expected to hand the armband to Celtic star, Victor Wanyama, who is celebrating winning a second title with the Hoops.
