NAIROBI, Kenya, December 12- In our article dated December 7 titled Kiprop to finally receive his Olympics gold (https://www.capitalfm.co.ke/sports/2011/12/05/kiprop-to-finally-receive-his-olympics-gold/), we erroneously and inadvertedly reported that Olympic champion, Asbel Kiprop’s father, David Kebenei was deceased.

The correct fact is that the 1987 All Africa Games men 1500m fourth finisher is alive and doing well.

Capital Sport takes this opportunity to apologise unreservedly for the huge distress and embarrassment caused to Kebenei, Kiprop and their families, relatives, friends, fans and the public at large.

We will take every care to ensure that the unfortunate occurrence will not be repeated in future.
