NAIROBI, Kenya, July 21- The NIC Bank Golf Day will be at the Nanyuki Sports Club on Friday for he fourth event in the nine part golf championship.
Over 100 golfers from Nyahururu, Nyeri Club and hosts Nanyuki have registered for the event that will be held on the tight and challenging nine-hole golf course on the slopes of Mt. Kenya.
According to the Nanyuki golf captain, Peter Demello, golfers from as far as Nairobi are expected to participate.
“We have received entries from NIC Bank guests in Nairobi and Meru and our sister clubs will also be sending in golfers to join us,” Demello said.
“The course is currently playing short, due to the weather conditions in the region but visitors will find the Nanyuki course enjoyable.”
Some of the hot favorites from Nanyuki include Gen (Rtd) Peter Waweru, Jibran Butt who plays in the company of the Captain and Don White.
Muthaiga’s Gikunda Iracha will tee off just before noon in the able company of former Nyeri Club Chairman, Charles Mwaniki. The NIC team to Nanyuki will be led by Yvonne Maranga and Philip Wahome.
Meanwhile, the Dasani Golf Gala moves to the Railway Golf Club in the heart of Nairobi.
Now in its final stages, the Gala has continued to attract huge crowds and a feverish following as the race to Atlanta hots up.
Over 150 golfers from Railways are drawn to participate and compete for the two team qualifications slots into the Dasani Golf Gala Grand Finale.
The winning team at the Grand Finale will win a VIP trip to the TOUR Championship, presented by Coca-Cola to be held in September at the East Lake Golf Club, Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
