NAIROBI, Kenya, March 4- Rangers have a chance to continue their giant slaying exploits when they face AFC Leopards at the Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday.
David Ouma’s side pulled off a stunning upset last weekend by torching Kenya Premier League (KPL) favourites Gor Mahia 3-0 at the same venue.
For Leopards, it will be a matter of restarting their season after the slip up against Tusker FC last Sunday.
Tusker travel to Mombasa to lock horns with new boys Congo United. The brewers display against ‘Ingwe’ made the rest of the league sit up and take notice especially with Dennis Mukaisi and Fred Ajwang in red hot form.
Congo gave a good account of themselves by drawing one all away at Sony Sugar but a rejuvenated Tusker side provides a different challenge.
Sony will be wary of a wounded Mathare United who they face in the nations capital.
Salim Ali’s charges bravely went down 2-1 to Sofapaka last Sunday in a match where they squandered several chances.
Sofapaka face another severe test in the heart of the sugar belt where Chemelil are lying in wait.
A lot is expected of Nick Yakhama’s side this season after their flirtation with relegation last season.
Last weekend’s win over Bandari was the perfect launch pad to their new season and they will be hoping for the same against the former champions.
In other fixtures, Gor Mahia take on Ulinzi, KCB host Bandari and Thika United lock horns with Karuturi Sports.
