Stars slide further in FIFA rankings

NAIROBI, Kenya, December 15- Kenya has dropped four places in the latest FIFA World rankings that were released on Wednesday.
The slide means that Harambee Stars will finish a forgettable 2010 in position 120 behind the likes of Iraq and the tiny South American country of Suriname which is smaller than Rift Valley Province.

Stars were recently bundled out of the CECAFA Tusker Cup in Tanzania after losing to both Ethiopia and Uganda and drawing with Malawi.

The team has also had a bumpy start to their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign losing 1-0 to Guinea Bissau and a barren draw with arch rivals Uganda.

There have also been issues off the pitch with players on several occasions threatening to down their tools over unpaid allowances and the revolving door of coaches.

Jacob Mulee who oversaw Stars campaign in Tanzania resigned from his post a fortnight ago citing poor preparations and lack of support from Football Kenya Limited (FKL).
