NAIROBI, Kenya, November 11- Gor Mahia and Kenya Cup champions Kenya Harlequins have been nominated for team of the year at the Sports Personality of the Year (SOYA) awards.The senior men’s cross country team that swept all before them at the World Cross Country Championships in Poland has also been nominated alongside the national half marathon squad.
Ulinzi join Gor as the only KPL clubs in the running for the award while defending National Sevens Circuit champions Mwamba are also in the running.
Hockey Premier league and continental club champions Telkom Orange, the women’s cross country team, the national Africa Club volleyball champions Kenya Prisons and the Kenya volleyball team are also among the contenders for the ladies team title.
The awards will be held at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) on December 10.
