Christies' draw out

NAIROBI, Kenya, August 17 – Players get a chance to state their case for Commonwealth Games selection when the Western Union National Sevens Circuit get underway this weekend.
Defending champions Strathmore University begin the defence of their title at the Christie Sevens at the Rugby Football Union of East Africa (RFUEA) grounds.

Mitch Ocholla’s side are top seeds for Kenya’s oldest sevens tournament and will lock horns with former champions Mwamba, Nondiescripts and Kenya Methodist University in Pool A of the competition.

Hosts and defending Christies’ champions Kenya Harlequins are expected to build on a rewarding season when they start their campaign against United States International University (USIU) in Pool B which also has Kisumu RFC and Daystar University.

Nakuru face University of Nairobi Mean Machine, Bungoma and Egerton University in Pool C while in Pool D Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) take on Impala, Flames and Homeboyz.

Pool A: Strathmore, Mwamba, Nondies, KEMU
Pool B: Quins, Kisumu, USIU, Daystar
Pool C: Nakuru, Mean Machine, Bungoma, Egerton
Pool D: KCB, Impala, Homeboyz, Flames
