Sofapaka and Leopards shift focus

NAIROBI, Kenya, March 5 – Sofapaka and AFC Leopards hope to put their elimination from the CAF Champions League behind them when they return to Kenya Premier League (KPL) action this weekend. The defending champions host the in form Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) at Nyayo National Stadium in what promises to be mouth watering encounter.

Getting another scalp will be a big psychological boost for Leonard Saleh’s team who beat Leopards in the opening round and followed it up with a 1-0 victory over Mahakama last Sunday.

John Baraza and James Situma once again will be the keys to unlocking the bankers defence while Edgar Ochieng should have too much experience to contain the likes of Daniel Waweru in the opposite corner.

City Stadium will be the setting of an encounter between two teams on opposite ends of the spectrum as unbeaten Ulinzi take on Posta Rangers who are winless.

Rangers gave a good account of themselves at Bukhungu last weekend and have to raise their game if they to secure their first win of the season against the rampant military outfit to are yet to concede a goal.

Sher Karuturi host current league leaders Tusker FC in another cracker of a match in Naivasha.

The flowermen will be buoyed by their shock 1-0 win over title favourites Thika United last weekend.

However, there are all to aware that James Nandwa’s side are scoring goals at will and their defence of Jockins Atundo and Collins Okoth can put the squeeze on anyone that crosses their path.

Thika hope to bounce back from last weekend’s loss with a win against Leopards at Nyayo National Stadium.

Abdullah Juma’s side who are usually the seasons pacesetters are off the boil this time round having one of their games called off and losing the other.
