NAIROBI, Kenya, February 4 – Nehemiah Odhiambo took a five wicket haul as Kenya beat Scotland by 10 wickets in the last match of the Twenty20 Tri Series tournament on Thursday.Three of Odhiambo’s wickets were clean bowls including that of Scotland top scorer Jan Stander (45) whose elimination help limit the visitors to 123 all out.
Kenya who won the toss and decided to field called upon veterans and opening pair David Obuya and Steve Tikolo whose performance at the crease helped Kenya cruise to a score of 126 in 15 overs.
Obuya (65) who faced 47 balls hit seven fours and two sixes while former captain Tikolo (56) struck eight fours and a six.
Odhiambo’s seam bowling was the talking point back at the Nairobi Gymkhana pavilion going by the rate he was picking up wickets, 5-20 to be exact.
Nelson Odhiambo piled more misery on Scotland with wickets of Fraser Watts and Richie Berrington, both of whom failed to secure any runs.
Majid Haq (2) and Dewald Nel (9) were both run out by Hiren Varaiya and Shem Obado respectively capping off a forgettable period with the bat.
Both sides will face each other at the World Twenty20 qualifiers in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
