Ivory Coast name strong squad

ABIDJAN, December 23 – Ivory Coast coach Vahid Halilhodzic named a full-strength squad for the forthcoming African Nations Cup on Tuesday.Halilhodzic – a Bosnian-born former Yugoslavian international – only omitted Sevilla midfielder Romaric N’DRi Koffi for apparent disciplinary misdemeanours.

There is just one player in the 23 man squad plying his trade in the Ivory Coast, goalkeeper ASEC Mimosas Vincent De Paul Angban.

The Ivory Coast are in Group B along with fellow World Cup finalists Ghana as well as Burkina Faso and Togo.

The championships run from January 10 to 31 in Angola.

Midfielders: Yaya Toure (Barcelona/ESP), Didier Zokora Sevilla/ESP), Emmanuel Kouamatien Kone (International Curtea of Arges/ROM), Cheik Ismael Tiote (FC Twente/NED), Emerse Fae (Nice/FRA), Jean-Jacques Gosso Gosso (AS Monaco/FRA).
