NAIROBI, Kenya, October 14 – Kenya will lock horns with hosts South Africa at the George leg of the International Rugby Board (IRB) Sevens Series.France and Zimbabwe are also lying in wait for the Safari Sevens champions when the tournament takes place at Outeniqua Park from December 11-12.
The match with France promises to be explosive as Kenya will be seeking vengeance after the Tricolore knocked them out of the tournament in the semi final stage of the bowl competition.
Kenya has never had a good outing in the Western Cape town as far as qualifying for the main cup is concerned.
In the 2007/2008 season, they won the plate while the season before they were eliminated in the semi final of the shield by Tunisia.
Last week, Kenya was drawn in Pool C of the Dubai Sevens where they are expected to come face to face with a physical onslaught from England, United States and Russia.
Kenya began their preparations for the upcoming series last weekend after the management called up 26 players including veteran Dennis Mwanja who missed the whole of last season to recover from knee surgery.
In the other pools, Fiji will step up to the challenge from Australia, Portugal and Russia in Pool B, former champions New Zealand take on Wales, Samoa and the United States in Pool C while Scotland, England, Argentina and Tunisia will battle it out in Pool D.
