ROME, April 22 – Felipe Massa believes Ferrari will be more competitive in Bahrain next Sunday than they were in China last weekend.
Ferrari have got off to their worst start to a season since 1981 as they have failed to score a single point after three races.
But the Brazilian, who finished runner-up in the title race last season, believes the Italian team are taking steps forward.
"I really believe we’ll be more competitive, especially if we use the Kers which should offer an advantage on this track," he said.
"I hope that in the end we’ll manage to make life more difficult for the other teams and to fight for a good result.
"I’m very motivated, despite the difficult moments I’ve had up until now."
Massa has been struggling in both qualifying and the races themselves and he admits it’s been getting to him.
"Right now talking about any race has become more of a sufferance than a pleasure but I’ve not lost hope and there were moments of light in the dark and wet last week in China.
"I’ve always gone well around this circuit (in Sakhir) where I won the last two years so I hope that sets a good precedent."
