In Cookeville, Tennessee, a Carmike Highland Cinemas theater employee called police after seeing a man with a holstered pistol walk into the theater showing “The Dark Knight Rises.” Officers entered the theater but could not spot the suspect. So the movie was stopped briefly and officers made an announcement ordering the man carrying a gun to stand up.
That’s when three men stood up! All three were acting legally and had proper permits but the officers explained the theater’s policy prohibiting weapons and asked the men to return their guns to their vehicles, which they did. While there was a posted sign in the theater stating that weapons of any kind were not allowed, officers said the sign was not large enough to be seen easily, and advised management to make it larger and more visible.(WSMV News)
