A man wanted by police for assault was caught after he shared a wanted photo of himself on Facebook.
Anthony James Lescowitch Jr. – who was wanted in connection with an assault on a man last July – had been evading capture by Pennsylvania police since December but was caught when he shared his wanted photo on the social networking site.
The post was originally uploaded by the Freeland Police Department’s Facebook page at 9.20pm yesterday before being reposted by suspect Lescowitch just three minutes later.
The 35-year-old wrote underneath his photo: “lol i f***** love it, A**HOLE. (sic)”
The post received two ‘likes’ and was commented on by friends wishing him good luck whilst on the run.
Investigating officer T.J. Rentschler was able to track down Lescowitch by posing as an attractive woman and inviting him to meet up for a cigarette.
Police were waiting to arrest the man as he arrived at their agreed location.
According to Standardspeakr.com, he was one of four men who were charged over the assault last summer, in which Lescowitch allegedly hit the victim over the heard before he was robbed in an incapacitated state.
