Mungiki boss earned Sh1m per month

NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 29 - Mungiki founder Maina Njenga revealed on Sunday that he has been receiving Sh1 million monthly from proceeds of his sect’s activities.
It was the first time he has confessed to the benefits he has been receiving from the criminal sect whose disbandment he announced a month ago.
He said: “it took me a lot of time to make the decision of turning my members into Christianity. Looking at the Sh1 million I have been receiving as a monthly salary.”
“Therefore, when I say the sect no longer exists, I mean it. It is not a joke because already most of my former members have equally confessed and quit criminal activities. We are now Christians,” he said when he attended the Sunday Service at the Jesus Is Alive Ministries (JIAM) church on Haille Sellasie Avenue in Nairobi.
Mr Njenga did not however, state the total amount of money the sect has been generating on a monthly or annual basis.
He did not also state the source of the revenues collected by his five million-plus members.
In a previous exclusive interview with Capital News, Mr Njenga equally declined to admit that his members were involved in running extortion rings in the public transport industry, at households in informal settlements in urban areas as well as the rural areas, mainly in Central Kenya.
He claimed police were still harassing his former members despite the fact that they “have transformed into Christianity and ditched crime.”
“Recently I said my life was in danger, and I have said I will not make a report with the police because there is no need,” he added.
Mr Njenga had earlier told journalists that he had been receiving threatening text messages, which warned him against his decision to transform the sect into Christianity.
It was the first time he came out in public after three weeks of hiding following the death threats he had received.
Mungiki Spokesman Njuguna Gitau who had equally expressed fears for his life was executed on Luthuli Avenue on November 5.
Police said no suspect has been arrested over the killing.

| Kenyans should ask themselves what is it about Mau that has caused so much media coverage when evictions of squatters have happened before. Before I can reveal all. Kenyans should ask themselves couples of questions.
1. Why the huge Mau coverage
2. Why did kibaki’s son Jimmy donate money to the harambee while his father the President has agreed with Raila about the Mau squatters? Ask yourself don’t you think as a father Kibaki would advice his son not to go against him .Also Lucy is a tougher cookie. Furthermore Ruto is and will be mentioned in the waki list of wanted individuals. Why side with someone that is thought to have played a part in the killing of innocent kikuyu.
3. Why the sudden alliance of Ruto and uhuru while it’s well know that mungiki was sponsored by uhuru .The blood hasn’t dried yet for them to be all buddies.
4. Maina Njenga released and murder of Njuguna.
5.Why is Raila the victim surely he is not that stupid to do something to kill his ambitious political career while his very close to the state house now then ever.
6. Raila son is married to a Kenyatta. Surely do you think both would fight against each other?
Well here is the plot that was hatched in statehouse and signed by blood.Moi became vice president because he promised Kenyatta he would protect his vast land and his family. He also promised to hand over power to one of Kenyatta son’s.
Now for the current plot.Uhuru and Ruto know quite well time is running out and for them to head to the hague.They know all the secret‘s that went on during the election. And would spill all when all fails.Moi, kibakis, odinga and Kenyatta’s cannot afford to lose all they have stolen from Kenya. Hence Mau comes in to play. Raila agrees to become the scape goat.Uhuru and Ruto to drum bad publicity when they know the public will turn to Raila and see him as a hero for standing firm. Vote of no confidence comes to play if it doesn’t either way election will be held soon .Here are two scenarios they have hatched.
1. If vote against Raila succeeds .Election will be called.Raila will surely win as central will vote for him blindly thinking Uhuru has lost the plot.Peope like Martha Karua who are gaining popularity will not win the election also anyone else with ambitions to succeed Kibaki.Raila gets on top of the seat and all their interests are protected.Uhuru and Ruto plus a few individuals go underground or a plot is created to look like they have been assassinated and all is well. If not they end up in The Hague but the family is protected. Donors again get fooled to give money to Kenya and life goes on as usual
2. Second plot Uhuru, Ruto and a few powerful individual names are mentioned in the waki list, people are outraged. They resign plus a few individuals in the cabinet. Elections are called .Raila wins and their interests are protected. Again they either go to The Hague or a fake assassination is hatched and they go underground. Donor again get fooled to give money to Kenya and life goes on as usual
Maina Njenga is aware of the plot. He has been paid with silence or his life. Most of all he is still in the mungiki.The mungiki covenant is signed by blood there is no way anyone can break the covenant and see tommorrow.You break it your family and your life is at risk.Maina pretends he is saved and he can work without any hindrance by eliminating any new kikuyu individual who thinks they can ruin the game for uhuru.
Watch the clip from Ntv yesterday about Maina Njenga as he goes into the church. Do you see the guys in suits? Those are his body guards.Njuguna the spokesman also had body guards from mungiki.That was withdrawn once he had enough of mungiki and wanted to renounce it. Yes they went to his burial that is Maina njenga.But all that was a ploy and a warning to others that step out of line and you are finished.

| Momanyi, this is a good story. But it saddens me that Kenyans will mainly focus on the huge amounts of money that the sect has been controlling, and not the victims whose money has been taken away illegaly by such thugs. There are people who have been left poorer by the extortion. Maina Njenga should go look for Kimani Ruo and stay there with him. |

| This is where KRA fails Kenyans. People own many houses, huge mansions, buildings in Eastleigh, Kahawa, Kayole, Kileleshwa, Karen, Ongata Rongai, Kitengela, Nyali etc from funds mainly suspect just like Maina's. He was arrested with hoards on money in his car yet was the source ever questioned? His wife was gunned down with hoards of money in her car yet again were questions asked about the source? Now he declares he used to earn 1 million. How much does he owe in back taxes? Will he ever be asked to declare his income? Why is it that working people are the ones always followed up to pay taxes yet the so called 'investors' in the above named places never pay? Unless of course the KRA leadership are on the take or fear something, maybe!! |

| Momanyi, is Maina Njenga really Mungiki's founder? I beg to differ. And that's why he cannot say the sect no longer exists? He can't just decide that since he's had enough of the 1 million shilling salary he's been getting everybody else who was in the business of sitting/lying around waiting for hardworking Kenyans to make their money only to go out and regularly threaten the living daylights out of them shoud do likewise. I'm yet to understand Mr Njenga's game-plan as his turns his back on this attractive package but time will surely tell. Off course he declined to divulge the gory details of how the Mungiki generate their income because we don't need telling. It's common knowledge that they extort money from the transport sector among other unsavoury activities. Mr. Njenga needs to know that a body of Mungiki's magnitude cannot just be wished away. Internal Security needs to sit and plan a programme to systematically dismantle this amorphous outfit. Maybe Mr Maina could lend a helping hand. |

| Your business has been on exorting money from locals, please ask for forgiveness from all kenyans for all acts we know you have done, readress all issues of thurgary and yes return our money through the government organs, you would need to sort out uncleared murders with the police apparently which might put you on the receiving end but thats where you belong, i have no mercy but let the law catch up with your 1 million worhty thurgary on monthly basis you have been enjoying |

| My best advise is for you to see how bad you have been in the past, Commit your self to change and then surrender all what you own from the previous iligitimate deals to the public and then ask for forgiveness, going to the church does not help as we already know very well than one does not deter from his /her own old deals only phostphones, you are a thief and a dangerous one to associate with for your extorsion business, we know you |
