NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 19 – Sorrow engulfed the burial of the late Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission ICT Manager Chris Msando, who was brutally murdered a week to the elections with questions of who murdered him hanging the air.

The burial that was attended by the National Super Alliance Principals Raila Odinga and Musalia Mudavadi saw the family call for justice for his death which they claim was connected to his job at the electoral commission.

“I want to know why they killed Chris. What mistake did he do? If he stole, I was ready to sell all my property to get him out. But why did they kill my last born?” his mother asked.

His wife Eva Msando said his death would not go unanswered as those who took her husband away from her were “marked” for life.

“Cain has done it again. Cain who killed his brother was left with a mark. Those who killed Chris have a mark on their body. They will be haunted. The death of Chris will not go in vain. Msando’s killers will run but they will never escape. It’s just a matter of time,” Eva Msando.

NASA Principal Musalia Mudavadi said the best way to honour Msando is for those behind his death to face justice.

“I want to pass my condolences to the family, community and Kenyans at large. The best respect we can give him and his death is for justice to prevail,” he said.

Msando’s body was found dumped in a forest in Kikuyu, alongside that of a female companion identified as Maryanne Ngumbu.

So far two suspects have been detained in connection with the killing.

Msando was laid to rest in Lifunga village, Siaya County.
