NYERI, Kenya, Jul 25 – Four people were killed and one injured in a grisly road accident along the Nyeri-Nyahururu highway near the Deadan Kimathi University of Technology.
A lorry is said to have rammed into the three vehicles killing three people instantly.
According to Julius Kavala who was driving one of the cars involved in the accident, the lorry was overtaking a matatu.
According Duncan Gituanja, the Nyeri County Majority leader who was at the scene, the emergency response took too long to arrive.
Another witness said the lorry was speeding and overtaking.
The fourth victim died while being rescued and a survivor rushed to hospital.
The driver of the lorry has been arrested.
