27 youths headed to Outa’s rally arrested with crude weapons

, KISUMU, Kenya, Jun 29 – Twenty seven youths have been arrested with crude weapons while heading to Rabuor, where Nyando MP Fred Outa is launching campaigns for his Kisumu Senate bid.

Nyando Police Chief Mohamed Amin says members of the public informed them that youths had been seen in a pick-up truck with crude weapons.

Amin says the youths were from Muhoroni.

The OCPD says the group was found with three machetes, three knives and bhang.

The youths were taken to Ahero Police Station ahead of their court appearance.

Those expected at the launch include Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and members of the Nyanza region ODM presidential campaign team.

Amin says police are on high alert and will immediately deal with anyone who disrupts the meeting.

On June 10, Outa’s car was shot at when chaos erupted at the burial of former MP James Miruka Owuor.
