, NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 28 – A 28-year-old suspected of causing the loss of Sh4 billion from the Kenya Revenue Authority through cybercrime, will remain in police custody pending the conclusion of police investigations.

Alex Mutuku appeared before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi on Tuesday for directions on his bail application.

Andayi however directed that before Mutuku could be released on a Sh1 million cash bail, investigations had to have been concluded.

When he was first arraigned in court last week, the State had sought his detention for a further 40 days to allow the completion of forensic investigations into electronic devices which he is suspected of having used in the fraud.
