NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 7 – Francis Nyaga Njeru of Frank Logistics who is allegedly behind the eviction of a family of an elderly couple and demolition of a Sh50mn property in Westlands has been arraigned before a Nairobi court.
Njeru appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Hellen Onkwani who released him on Sh300,000 cash bail.
The prosecution had wanted Njeru detained for 7 days to complete investigations and prefer charges
The magistrate however declined to grant the prosecution request on the basis that they improperly served the court documents in that they had no signatures and that there were no proper reasons before court to detain him.
Prosecution accuses Njeru of hiring goons who demolished a house whose lease had expired and claimed it had changed ownership.
Njeru however through his advocate told court that he is set to appear before National Lands Commission for a review of the land dispute.
The case is due on December 9.
