, NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 14 – Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet will on Wednesday morning hold a meeting with senior police officers in Nairobi to review their performance and strategies aimed at curbing crime.

The meeting of all County commanders, Kenya Police, Administration Police and Directorate of Criminal Investigations will also look into their preparedness ahead of next year’s General Election.

The meeting will further review the police strengths and weaknesses ahead of the festive season.

Thousands of police officers are expected to be deployed ahead of the election campaigns next year.

There have been concerns of lack of allowances for officers in the field hence affecting their general operations and morale.

The campaign period is also seen as complicated as politicians put their machinery ready for wins.
