MURANG’A, Kenya, Nov 14 – The wife of the Principal of Kiru Secondary School was arrested Monday after police linked her to his murder.
Jane Muthoni Mbuthi who is also a Principal at Ichachiri Girls Secondary School in Gatundu, Kiambu County was picked up by police soon after her husband’s body was found at the City Mortuary.
The man had been reported missing at the weekend and his body was discovered at a dam in Juja before it was taken to the City Mortuary.
Police said they have reason to believe that she was involved in planning and executing the murder.
She was expected in court later Monday.
A taxi driver whose vehicle is believed to have been used to transport the dead principal to Juja has since been questioned by police who are now looking for a teacher and other people who played part in the killing.
Police said they believed the principal was strangled to death and later thrown into a dam.
