NAIROBI, Kenya, October 5 – The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has directed all teachers in both Primary and Secondary schools to be on duty during the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination (KCSE) and the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) period.

In a circular sent to all Principals and Head teachers, TSC Chief Executive Officer Nancy Macharia stated that during this period, the teachers will be carrying out other school programs touching on curriculum implementation.

“As you are all aware, schools will close on 28th October 2016. The form four and Standard eight students will however remain to do their KCSE and KCPE examinations respectively,” she stated.

She directed all school heads to ensure that teachers are in duty during this period.

“Heads of institutions are required to make sure that teachers are on duty during this period. By a copy of this circular, the TSC County Directors are required to ensure that this directive is complied with.”
