MACHAKOS, Kenya, Oct 23 – The Maendeleo Chap Chap Party which is associated with Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua will hold a meeting of all interested aspirants eyeing the party ticket for the 2017 polls.

The meeting which will be held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre on Friday will also see the party unveil it’s interim party officials.

Chap Chap will field candidates across the country from MCAs, MPs,Senators and Governors.

On Monday, Mutua said all persons interested in becoming members of the party or vying for political seats in 2017 were welcome to the meeting.

“I want them to learn about the party consciousness and be part of this historical change in our country,” said Mutua.

He added that sitting politicians who want to run on the party ticket have also been invited for the meeting.

Mutua has expressed his support for President Kenyatta’s re-election meaning his party will not field a presidential candidate in the 2017 elections.

President Kenyatta has been a consistent visitor to Machakos and has openly supported the governor’s flagship projects in the water,
health, roads and agricultural sectors.

Governor Mutua has also indicated that he will not defend his seat on a Wiper Party ticket.
