MURANG’A, Kenya, Sept 7 – The National Alliance (TNA) party Murang’a County branch has been disbanded to join the Jubilee Party ahead of delegates convention on Thursday.
Led by the Murang’a county party officials, the members said they had resolved to close all their county offices in readiness to brand them as Jubilee Party offices after the launch.
TNA Murang’a branch secretary general Samuel Macharia said they met all leaders who were elected on TNA party so as to have a common approach as they headed to Kasarani.
Speaking to the press, Macharia said they are ready for launching of the Jubilee party adding that the list of the delegates who will attend the occasion was ready.
“The question on the delegates has been cleared on how they will be selected, together with all the leaders, we have to carry on with the list of 2013 delegates who midwifed the TNA elections,” he said.
He lauded the President and his deputy for coming up with idea of merging all affiliated parties saying the move is crucial to spearhead national unity.

Only Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau and his Kandara counterpart Alice Wahome failed to attend the meeting.
The leaders called for fair nominations adding that they have trust with Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to carry out fair and free nominations.
Wanjiru said aspirants should not be scared as the process of nominations will reflect the will of people.
She added that the President and his deputy had assured them no one will be favoured in nominations.
“We have faith in IEBC, it is a professional body and my appeal for those eyeing various elective positions is not to be worried of rigging in nominations,” she remarked.
Governor Wa Iria reiterated that 98 percent of leaders were elected on TNA ticket and thus they are all in support of the move to merger parties.
He called upon other political parties citing Mzalendo Saba Saba party which has its origin from Murang’a to dissolve and join Jubilee Party.
Wa Iria urged other counties to emulate the example Murang’a and dissolve their branches in advance to ensure a smooth merger.
‘I urge individual branches and parties to also address their in house problems ahead of the merger, It would be such be such a shame for delegates to engage in shouting matches and fights at Kasarani,” he said.
Kangema MP Tiras Ngahu said Jubilee party had only two officials, the party leader and deputy party leader, the President and his deputy and are the only one who will be unveiled in Kasarani.
He added that anybody else was just masquerading noting that members had also agreed to ensure aspirants do not hold party positions after the merger.
