ODM to celebrate 10th anniversary on Saturday

NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 8 – ODM is set to hold its 10th year anniversary this Saturday in Mombasa where 47 branded buses will be flagged off to each county across the county.

In a statement, the party’s Director of Elections and Campaign Junet Mohamed indicated that the event is dubbed ‘ODM’s 10 at 10 celebrations’ and will be a two day affair taking place on Friday and Saturday.

He stated that Deputy Party leader Hassan Joho will flag off the branded buses from Mombasa to all the 47 counties in the country to transport delegates to Mombasa, with a further 823 personal vehicles heading from the counties to Mombasa for the event.

“Further to an announcement by the ODM Deputy Party Leader, H. E Hassan Ali Joho, regarding our ’10 At 10′ celebration scheduled for this Saturday, my directorate wishes to alert our members and by extension the nation at large of our arrangements for the extravaganza,” he said.

“Later that Friday evening, the Deputy Party Leader shall host a private reception in honour of the Rt. Hon Raila Odinga and Mama Ida where 450 MCAs, 110 MPs, 18 Senators and at least 10 Governors have confirmed attendance over and above the delegates from all over Kenya. A team of expert bakers have been tasked to prepare a giant cake for guests to commemorate the event,” he stated.

He stated that the vehicles will be branded to comb the entire country mobilizing and rallying the people around their 2017 agenda.

The Suna East MP noted that the event would culminate in a party convention on Saturday where, “an important political announcement,” will be made.

“On Saturday, we will hold a grand convention of the party where a ground-shaking political announcement shall be made. In the evening, there shall be a celebratory procession on Mama Ngina drive where international award-winning music artist Diamond will jet in from the US to entertain guests in what is billed to be an evening to remember not just for Mombasa but Kenyans at large,” he said.

ODM’s event coincides with the Jubilee party National Delegates’ Conference which runs from Thursday, September 9 to Saturday, September 10.

Jubilee will use the three days to hold delegates meetings which will culminate in the dissolution of all its affiliate parties and the official launch of Jubilee party.
