NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 14 – Former Cabinet Minister William Ole Ntimama burial ceremony got underway at his Narok home Wednesday.

Hundreds of mourners gathered at his Motonyi home as the body arrived early in the morning from Lee Funeral home.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and CORD leader Raila Odinga are also among the mourners.

Others are retired President Daniel arap Moi, former Vice President Musalia Mudavadi and a number of governors including Narok Governor Samuel Tunai, Nairobi’s Evans Kidero and Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua.

Hundreds of Maasai’s with red clad are also in attendance.

Ntimama aged 86, died peacefully in his sleep, at his rural home in Narok on September 2.

On Tuesday during a requiem mass held at the All Saints Cathedral and attended by dozens of local and international leaders, Ntimama was eulogised as a fearless leader who always spoke his mind while fighting for the rights of the oppressed.

Nkaissery also delivered a message from President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto at the requiem mass.

CORD leader Raila Odinga described Ntimama as a towering political figure who always stood for unity in the country.

Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Alex Ole Magelo has eulogised Ntimama as his political mentor.

Ntimama’s body was transported from the Lee Funeral Home by road to Narok County.
