At the New Ford Kenya forum, Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka, the Party Leader and Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa led delegates in dissolving the party/MOSES MUOKI
NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 8 – It was a beehive of activity at the Bomas of Kenya Thursday as various parties folded up ahead of the much anticipated formation of the Jubilee Party.
Delegates in their thousands attended respective forums approving the dissolution of their parties.
At the New Ford Kenya forum, Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka, the Party Leader and Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa led delegates in dissolving the party.
The forum was also attended by other leaders from Jubilee affiliated parties including Kikuyu MP Ferdinand Waititu, and Nairobi Woman Representative Rachael Shebesh among others.
It was a forum where besides the main agenda of the day, several leaders endorsed Wamalwa for the Nairobi gubernatorial position.
Wamalwa was joined by Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, where the two were urged to unite in a bid to dethrone Governor Evans Kidero.
The Cabinet Secretary for Water urged all Kenyans to “welcome the new party since it is the winning team.”
Wanjiru said the country under the new party will be more united “since all Kenyans are represented in the party.”
The former legislator also an aspirant of the Nairobi gubernatorial position said the Jubilee Party will help in eliminating the cancer of tribalism.
“We want a united country under one strong party,” she said.
Defectors from other parties especially from the Orange Democratic Movement led by nominated MP Isaac Mwaura, MP John Walukhe and Mathare legislator Stephen Kariuki were also present.
Walukhe urged the new party to support all aspirants equally and shun tribalism while cautioning that they have joined Jubilee as a equal partners.
“We know what we’re doing. Our son Wamalwa is being nurtured to also become the President of this country, ” he said.
“We don’t want empty politics but development for the good of our people. I’m ready, no taking chances.”
Mwaura on his part said he had already peacefully parted ways with his previous party leader Raila Odinga.
He said,” I am now in the winning team.”
