NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 7 – US Secretary of State John Kerry is expected in the country within the month for talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu said the exact dates of the visit will be announced in due course.
“Matters we expect to be discussed at his meetings with our President and Foreign Affairs Minister Amina Mohamed will include security, regional and international relations and especially the recent upheaval in South Sudan as well as the developments in Somalia.
Kenya is considered key in the restoration of security in the two neighbouring countries.
Also visiting Kenya later in the month is China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi from August 9 for trade and investment talks.
“As you know China is a big trade partner and has supported a number of significant initiatives in the infrastructure sector,” Esipisu said Sunday during a weekly briefing.
