“In 1970, China was just like Kenya, but look at it today. It means it is possible. It can happen,” Wang said, citing focus and implementation of projects with zero tolerance to corruption as a key to the successes achieved.

Most participants at the symposium seemed to favour the argument that Africa is poor today because it has not completed the transition from agribusiness to become an industrial economy.
