NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 30- Former President Mwai Kibaki has been discharged from a Johannesburg hospital.
A statement from State House sent by the family of the former president said he was discharged on Tuesday.
“(Former) President Kibaki is in jovial and high spirits,” the statement issued late Tuesday states. “He will continue to recuperate for a few more days before returning home.”
There were no further details from the family or State House on the nature of his illness or treatment he received in South Africa.
He was flown to South Africa on August 21 from The Karen Hospital where he had been receiving treatment.
