, NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 25 – The Chinese Embassy has boosted the reporting capacity of Capital FM with a donation of equipment.
The equipment was handed over to Capital FM by the Counsellor Yao Ming at the Chinese Embassy Thursday.
“We have identified Capital FM as one of the leading media houses and wanted to boost its reporting capacity by increasing the equipment available to the newsroom,” Yao said, adding that the gesture is part of the embassy’s commitment to “support media development in Kenya and strengthen mutual exchanges.”
Among the equipment are laptops, desktop computers, camera accessories and voice recorders.
The equipment was handed over to Editorial Director Michael Mumo and News Editor Bernard Momanyi.
“We appreciate this gesture and expect it will improve our reporting capabilities,” Mumo said at the hand-over ceremony.
