, NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 2 – Eight students of Sunshine Secondary School have been charged with conspiracy to commit a felony and attempted arson.

The eight denied the charges before Children’s Court Magistrate Lucy Gitaru.

The prosecution alleges they jointly conspired to burn down Marsabit Dormitory housed in block C on July 22, 2016.

The magistrate will decide Tuesday afternoon whether the terms granted earlier of a Sh50,000 personal bond should be reviewed.

This is after the prosecution made a proposal that they should pay a further Sh20,000 as cash bail to secure their freedom pending trial.
