NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul 22 – A police officer must be disciplined and orderly while executing his duties of ensuring law and order prevails in the country.
What of a school sponsored by the Kenya Police Service?
It is the curiosity of knowing whether such is reflected in an institution, where eighty percent of students are children of Kenya Police Service officers, while only 20 percent are from the rest of the members of public that took me to Utumishi Academy.
The desire to interact with children of police officers took me to the institution based in Gilgil within Nakuru County accompanied by the Kenya Police spokesperson Charles Owino.
It is evident from the entry point that discipline, sanity, peace and all the virtues prevail in the ‘police’ school.

Such posts are strategically positioned, with intended message, to act as reminder to the students, just in case they may lose focus.
It is a school, whose first phase was constructed using contributions from members of the KPS and the patron is Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet.

It is with such a environment that and working hard that could have led to a mean grade of 11.17 in 2015 Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education examinations.
