NAIROBI, Kenya, July 23 – Youth and Gender Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki is calling for the deportation of renowned musician Koffi Olomide after he was captured on social media assaulting one of his female dancers.

In a statement, the CS described his conduct as an insult to Kenyans and the Constitution and stated that violence against women and girls cannot be accepted in any shape, form or manner.

“Today Kenyans witnessed with dismay an assault incident at the JKIA by renowned artist Koffi Olomide against one of his female dancers. His conduct is an insult to Kenyans and flies in the face of our Constitution and what we believe in,” he said.

Kariuki commended the move to arrest him saying that it will serve as a lesson that gender based violence will not be tolerated.

“We hope that this action will be a lesson to him and others of his ilk that gender based violence will not be tolerated and all who engage in such archaic behaviour will face the full force of the law regardless of their economic stature or social standing,” she stated.

She reiterated that anybody who engages in such behaviour will face the full force of the law regardless of their economic stature or social standing.

“Violence against women and girls cannot be accepted in any shape, form or manner,” she said.
