NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul 6 – The autopsy reports for murdered lawyer Willie Kimani, his client and a taxi driver will be presented before the High Court on Wednesday morning.

Justice Luka Kimaru directed that they be made public as lawyers sought assurance that the killings will be thoroughly investigated.

According to Government Pathologist Dr Johansen Oduor, the three were tortured before being bludgeoned to death using heavy blunt objects which cracked their skulls.

The Director of Criminal Investigations Ndegwa Muhoro on Tuesday announced that they are working closely with the Federal Bureau of Investigations to unravel the killings.

Detectives investigating the murders say they have made remarkable progress after identifying the scene where the bizarre murders are believed to have been committed.

They are now keen on identifying two to three people – most likely civilians – who worked with four police officers in custody over the killings, according to a senior officer briefed on the investigation.

Kimani, his client Josephat Mwenda and taxi driver Joseph Muiruri were abducted on their way from Mavoko Law Courts before they were taken to the Mlolongo AP camp where they were detained.

Kenyan detectives – with the assistance of Federal Bureau of Investigations – say they believe the three were tortured and eventually murdered at an open field near a cigarette company in Mlolongo.
