, NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun 18- Two police officers—among them an MPs bodyguard—were arrested on Saturday for allegedly extorting money from members of the public.
A senior officer told Capital FM News that one of the officers is assigned to Embakasi East MP John Omondi as a body guard while his counterpart is based at Logistics headquarters in Ruaraka.
They are accused of ‘arresting’ two people in Kayole over what police say are unspecified reasons and were demanding money from them.
“They were arrested by police officers on patrol after they were alerted by the public,” the officer, who sought anonymity, said.
He said an investigation had been commenced to ascertain if the two were culpable.
