NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun 24 – President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed former Labour Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi as the Chairperson of National Government Constituency Development Fund.
Kazungu is among other appointees listed in a Gazette Notice published on Friday that includes Ronald Osumba, 2013 presidential running mate of Peter Kenneth will now be the new chairperson of Youth Development Enterprise Fund.
Former Rarieda MP Raphael Tuju will serve as the chairperson of the Lake Basin Development Authority with Bifwoli Wakoli appointed as the new Agricultural Development Corporation, in a similar capacity.
John Mututho has been moved from NACADA to lead the Transport Licensing Appeal Board.
The appointments and nominations, display the Government’s commitment to promoting youth, diversity and injecting fresh blood into leadership, according to President Kenyatta.
“The Government reiterates its commitment to reforming State Corporations as part of its strategic vision for improving governance and service delivery to Kenyans in line with the Administration’s Transformative Agenda,” reads the Gazette Notice.
Ex- military boss Julius Karangi has been named as the Kenya Airports Authority Chairman to replace David Kimaiyo whose appointment has been revoked.
Former Changamwe Member of Parliament Ramadhan Kajembe has been appointed the chairman of the Kenya Ferry Services.
Other appointments contained in the Gazette Notice include the position of a Chairperson include Wilfred Sang-Postal Corporation of Kenya, Noah Katana Ngala- Kenya National Library Services, Patrick Osero -Tourism Finance Corporation, Prof. Michael Chege- NEPAD, Charity Selina Kisotu Insurance Tribunal, Lucy Yinda- Street Families Rehabilitation Trust, Paula Kahumbu -National Museums of Kenya and Philip Nzamba Kitonga -Council for Legal Education.
In the position of a board member, Jenifer Shamalla- NEPAD, Michael Muia Kisilu- NEPAD, Alice May Kirenge- LAPSSET Corridor Development Authority, Fauziya B. Karama LAPSSET Corridor Development Authority, James Wachira- LAPSSET Corridor Development Authority, Ali Dida Abkula- LAPSSET Corridor Development and Mark Dunford -The Kenya Utalii College.
